- Experience in online and brand marketing
- Knowledge of marketing, online marketing required and/or hotel marketing
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Revenue Generation mindset
- Knowledge and keen interest in general consumer online trends
- Comfortable with using online content management and other online tools
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity - initiative to dig into the - why- of various results.
- Advanced computer skills and detailed knowledge of various computer programs, including a strong proficiency of MS Excel and Access. Adobe Photoshop and rudimentary HTML knowledge is a plus
- Minimum 4-5 years in marketing/advertising industry, preferably online. Hotel experience is preferred, ideally in Sales, Marketing or Revenue Management.

Manage online tactical marketing initiatives for the hotel. Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns at a property level, enabling more customized and need based digital marketing. Key responsibility is to drive digital marketing solutions that will improve performance for the various branded websites, online channels and 3rd parties. The team presents, individual properties- overall Revenue Per Available Room (RevPar) index and other key financial and customer metrics. Working closely with the Cluster Online and Field Marketing Team in your region to ensure strategies are aligned with the region.
Marketing initiatives managed by this role include but are not limited to:
- Manage all Online marketing initiatives for the Hotel including those relevant to F&B, Rooms and PR
- Consultation on search marketing (SEM and SEO) with DOSM and Online Cluster
- Online web pages that promote the properties, and special offers tied in with the destination or with the specific brand
- Oversee Email and direct mail campaigns, using Starwood channels, including Guest Communication and Eat, Drink & More.
- Work with and maximize opportunities for the Hotel in the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and other Starwood online marketing channels
- Create and maintain a year round strategic digital plan including a calendar of promotions
- Maintain existing and expand to new social media sites ensuring all pages and entries adhere to the Starwood social media policy
- Monitor online travel blogs and take appropriate action
- Establish monthly reporting monitoring Revenues, Clicks, Visitors and Conversion of our own LPS as well as brand.com sites
- Drive innovation by implementing new tools into our Local Property Sites, which are supported by Starwood
- Ensure content and brand consistency across all digital channels
- Actively monitor, manage and analyse OTA performance for the property and take corrective actions if needed, under supervision of Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management
- Create an individual tactical digital marketing plan to drive revenue across all customers segments (leisure travel, corporate travel and group/meetings), and work with the property Director of Sales & Marketing, General Manager and Director of Revenue Management to ensure a smooth execution at the property level.
- Review the monthly and quarterly analysis, provided by the Online Cluster, including performance of campaigns and channels, along with return on investment statistics. Maximize and optimize the performance of all marketing channels based on these results.
- Own the online results for the property through tracking and analysis, using our proprietary performance measurement tool and other tracking systems.
- Leverage best practices in online marketing, online distribution operations and reporting within Starwood- s divisional and global field marketing communities.
- Work within the content management system to ensure property content/offers are up to date and consistent with brand strategies. Develop and load offers on the hotel- s Special Offer Page(s), Destination Site(s) and StarwoodMeetings.com. Develop landing pages for hotel(s) and destination(s) as directed.
- Supervise online marketing campaigns with approved online agency.
- Ensure brand consistency and reinforcement in all marketing copy, photography, communications and programs.
- Write/proof-read copy and creative for all promotional offers.
- Research and develop promotions/partnerships with local attractions to further hotels- web presence and online revenue, and negotiate on behalf of the hotels in the region for new online marketing initiatives.
- Maintain close relationship with the market managers in your area for your hotel in conjunction with the DOSM and DORM, to ensure you have the latest information on promotions and have a continuous dialogue.
- Develop property or cluster related SPG Direct mails, EDM- s and GC AHSB.
- Provide content for cluster online promotions for other internal loyalty programs - Starwood Preferred Planner (SPP), StarChoice and Starwood Privilege.
- Provide content for regional EDM- s with local or regional partners, with approval of divisional office
- Manage the development, execution and tracking of offers on the Guest Communication tool, Starwood- s proprietary property level email marketing/CRM tool.
- Design marketing strategies to drive stay-related revenue, as well as offers that will generate repeat business for the hotel.
- Own the development and implementation of promotional offers to ensure timeliness to market.
- Liaise with hotel operations teams on implementation of offers. Ensure offers are properly tagged and are being tracked.
- Track, measure and provide analysis on success rate and - Return on Investment- to ensure we optimize on all future offers.
- Proof-read copy and creative for all promotional offers
