Requirements

-Thai Nationality
-Proven experience as hostel/hotel Manager or relevant role
-Fluency in English (speaking, writing & reading); knowledge of other languages is a plus
-Good computer skills. Working knowledge of word processors and spreadsheets (eg: MS Word, Excel); knowledge of hostel/hotel management software (PMS) is an advantage
-Knowledge of accounting processes including and not limited to: receivables, payables, budgets, invoices, payroll
-Honest and trustworthy
-Wear proper attire at all times in accordance with our standards (which you will help create)
Excellent customer service skills and a business mindset
-Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
-Reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
-Outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail
-Thorough understanding of emergency procedures
-Degree in Business Administration, hostel/Hospitality Management or relevant field is an advantage

Must be able to:
-Push or pull 30 kilograms and lift and/or carry 15 kilograms
-Climb a ladder
-Stand for eight hours, bend, stretch and reach
accept constructive criticism
-Display professionalism, honesty and trustworthiness at all times
-Read and interpret business records and statistical reports

Job brief
We are looking for an experienced hotel or hostel manager to oversee the daily operations of our hostel as well as provide strategic direction. You will plan and supervise the workforce activities to ensure the smooth and profitable running of business.

It is important for the hostel manager to be involved in all aspects of the hostel operations. You will be just as responsible for dealing with complaints as for strategizing and preparing reports. You will be a key person of reference for employees and clients as well as external vendors.

The hostel manager must be able to guide the employees to work as a well-functioning team. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be a team player and an effective leader, able to set examples and foster a climate of cooperation.
The goal is to enhance customer service and expand our clientele by strengthening our hostel- s reputation.

Responsibilities
-Supervise work at all levels (receptionists, cleaner, office employees etc.) and set clear objectives
-Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient operating model
-Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits
-Review on a daily/weekly basis all cost accounts for each area of hostel
-Develop and implement an intuitive and efficient marketing strategy to promote the hostel- s services
-Communicate with customers when appropriate (welcome them in the facilities, address their complaints, find solutions to problems, offer information etc.)
-Deal with maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations etc.
-Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, activity centers (eg: rock climbing) etc.
-Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards
-Creation and implementation of company safety policies and provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all safety requirements
-Monitor attire and uniform standards compliance for all
-Implement all hostel/hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines and ensure other staff do the same
-Develop others to progress and advance careers
-Document policy violations by any staff member and follow up ensure performance was corrected or not repeated
-Ensure all hotel staff meet and greet guests as well as ensure staff provides an atmosphere of gracious hospitality to all guests
-Manage the new hire process for each department
-Review on going training practices to ensure all staff are kept up to date on current policies and procedures
-Maintain a professional cohesive team by: hiring, training, coaching, counseling and developing the most qualified individuals
-Promote positive morale and friendly attitudes
-Monitor communication between departments to ensure a positive flow of information in a timely manner
-Ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with service standards and that outages are reported and resolved in a timely manner
-Help create Staff Handbook and be thoroughly familiar with the Staff Handbook, implement all the rules, policies and procedures established by the company; including, but not limited to, those contained in the Staff Handbook.
-Maintain involvement in the community from both business and charitable avenues
-Other duties as assigned
-Be flexible in regard to work schedule. Be available as necessary 24/7, weekends and holidays. It is very important to us that our staff have time off undisturbed by work, so we will only expect you to be contacted out of hours for something truly urgent.
