DUTIED AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operation

1. Checks and reads the housekeeping log book for information and follows up.
2. Regularly checks whether the room status is being updated correctly.
3. Supervises and ensures the cleanliness of guest rooms, corridors and pantries. No garbage or empty food trays are kept over shift in the pantry.
4. Inspects room due for check - in, as well as rooms blocked for VIPs and ensures the arrangements of special requests for VIPs.
5. Checks standard of cleanliness for the in-house guest rooms and vacant clean rooms.
6. Reports made up rooms to housekeeping office as frequently as possible, regardless of occupancy.
7. Reports sick and irregular behavior of guests and staff to the Asst. Executive Housekeeper
8. Ensures a smooth the linen circulation on the floor and a proper set up in the guest rooms, pantries and on the maid- s trolleys.
9. Supervises proper care and use of equipment, trolleys, maid baskets as well as guest room supplies.
10. Checks if guest laundry and dry cleaning item have been picked up and returned to the guest rooms.

Administration

11. Reports any defects in guest rooms to the Asst. Exec. Housekeeper and follows up on repairs
12. Writes a correct and complete log book report and hands over all work which has not been done.

Coordination

13. Coordinates with the Front Office to ensure a fast and accurate flow and proper recording of information
14. Coordinates with F & B department to ensure proper handling and follow-up of requests for fruit baskets, etc.
15. Coordinates with the engineering department concerning work orders to ensure recording and follow-up on all work requests issued.

Staffing

16. Ensures that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
17. To ensure that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
18. Ensures that all employees maintain a good working relationship with their own colleagues and other department.
19. Ensures that all employees have complete understanding and adhere to the hotel- s policy regarding employee rules and regulations.
20. Ensures that all employees have complete understanding and adhere to the hotel- s policy relating to fire, health and safety.

Training

21. Checks work performance of staff and provides necessary on the job training
22. Trains new housekeeping employees and monitors their performance.

Miscellaneous

23. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Exec. Housekeeper or Asst. Exec. Housekeeper.

Special Duties

Morning Shift
24. Hands over rooms which are not ready to the afternoon shift supervisor to follow up.
25. Checks on rooms which still show the - DO NOT DISTURB- sign at 2.00 p.m. by contacting the guest by phone. If the guest is sick report to Asst. Exec Housekeeper immediately for further action.


Afternoon Shift:
26. Checks on all room which receive a turn down service during the afternoon shift.
27. Ensures that Room Attendants prepare the turn down service for occupied rooms and rooms which are planned to be occupied on the same day.


Night Shift
28. Checks the room status / expected early morning departure
29. Arranges the staff to prepare the guest rooms or function room, which have requests to be serviced early in the morning and rechecks cleanliness and proper handling.
30. Controls the housekeeping clerk on preparing the documents for the Floor Supervisor / Room Attendant of the following morning shift.
