Minimum 5-7 years of Sales Management experience in hotel of international standard or 5 star equivalent.
Bachelor- s Degree/ Master degree in Hospitality / Business Administration is preferred
Responsible for maximizing overall revenue and fostering relationships mainly with business segments - FIT's and groups, but also with associations, government, airlines, and help with corporate and function business.
Skill in developing sales strategies with a long term view.
Multi-property sales experience or team leadership experience
Good English proficiency, both spoken, written, listening and negotiation.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills/ administration / computer skills.
Ability to work under pressure, pleasing personality, service mind and good attitude.
To assume responsibility for the Sales & Marketing Division in the absence of Director of Sales & Marketing.
To direct sales activities of the hotel to achieve budgeted goals.
To assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in establishing and directing the development of annual sales goals; ensures they are fully understood and implemented in the hotel.
To direct the reporting and apprising of results against planned objectives; coordinates sales staff activities; takes appropriate action to maximize sales and affect need periods.
To assist in creating the annual marketing plan.
Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
To assist in the preparation of the budget and ensures the department operates within cost constraints, i.e. direct selling costs, promotion cost etc.
To monitor room availability and rate on guest rooms and function room, and manage function of space allocation for group and catering bookings based on established guidelines and procedures.
To forecast room inventory and establish a group rate plan and forecast average rate based on marketing plan and overall budget goals, manage transient and group room commitments to ensure proper market mix.
To evaluate, solicit, sell and confirm business in assigned corporate area to meet overall budget sales and profitability.
Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company- s customer base, and
develop data and recommend programs to meet client's needs.
To negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client's needs.
To oversee the coordination of various departments- activities related to booked business to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability, and ensure communication of Sales persons between other Department Heads is maintained to maximize the guest experience and hotel profitability.
To review sales and catering work files to ascertain a proper communication between hotel and client.
To ensure plans are executed for all market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan with emphasis to increase sales and profitability.
To analyze sales statistics against actual performance versus last year performance.
To review market analysis and determine client needs, maximize occupancy and rate potential.
To coordinate with special sales activities, promotions, trade shows etc.
To support Sales Managers by participating in solving problems with other departments as required related to business booked in the hotel. i.e. problems of guest room function space conflicts, salvaging of accounts which have threaten cancellation.
To follow-up with Sales Managers on progress of groups booked such as room night pick-up, wash down, function space ratios, catering coordination, account review etc.
To enhance the hotel's community image and stays abreast of the competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques in the hotel industry to maximize sales volume and profitability.
To prepare reports as requested to develop a more informative data base for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.
To perform all supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned.
To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results if needed.
