Basic Function:
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales&Marketing, and within the limits of Established hotel policies and procedures, oversees and implements all allocated Sales & Marketing activities in his/her market/portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? To plan advertising and PR schedule and budget for the hotel and estimate the resources which needs to be allocated in conjunction with the plans and actions laid out in the Director of Marketing?s Business Plan and Marketing Plan.
? Maximize press relations by:
* Seeking story placement in local and national media
* Soliciting media coverage for all special events and programs
* Generating publicity for new facilities, entertainment, services and functions
of the hotel through news releases, memos and story solicitation of the news
media.
* Initiating and placing the hotel and/or hotel personnel stories in local media
that will add to the awareness and prestige of the hotel.
* Acting as a liaison between the hotel and the press to answer all media
inquiries.
? To establish and maintain, through advertising and PR, a desired and favorable. Image of the organization within the Hotel industry.
? To organize events/ activities related to the advertising and PR of the Hotel in respect to improving public goodwill. Make and formulate a plan and strategy for a calendar of events.
? To write and edit news releases with regard to the Hotel, as well as external communication and to report to Marriott International on such releases and guided by the followings: -

a Domestic Press Responsible for handling the press within the
Respective domestic markets (Thailand).
b International Press Liaise with Corporate Headquarter (Marriott
International).
c Press Releases Writes and distributed press releases for our
property. Assist in distributing press releases generated by corporate headquarter and sister hotels.
d Publicity Responsible for generating maximum publicity
and press coverage for the property.
? To liaise with the media, appointed advertising agency with regard to news/press releases and/or interviews organized events relating to the hotel.
? To monitor closely external opinion(s) of the hotel and to feedback such information to the Director of Marketing/ General Manager and recommend the appropriate actions to be taken.
? To attend official functions as and when required and co-entertain these guests with fellow associates when necessary.
? To handle media/ press educational groups in cooperation with DOM/DOS.
? To co-ordinate and meet target dates with suppliers. (e.g. printers and advertising agencies on all job requirements)
? To solicit select and manage the inventory of appropriate corporate gift for use by the Sales team.
? To establish and maintain a visible and updated mailing list for all special interest groups to events marketing and press contacts.
? To assist in the production of all printed material required by the property. All print jobs to have GM approval.
? Coordinate the production of in-house magazine or newsletter to give updates on activities in the hotel to our guests, clients, corporate head office as well as employees.
? Create a resource center ? offering newspaper and magazine clipping service and hotel related publications to ensure an effective communications and information systems.

? Administer the section by:
* Developing long-range plans and goals for PR & Promotions
* Preparing monthly reports & activities
* Supervising subordinates
? Assist in development, implementation, and promotion of programs and / or special events to increase Food and Beverage and Catering Sales Revenue. And achieve publicity in the appropriate publications.
Duties & Responsibilities ? Sales:
? Through organized sales calls/ activities/ solicitations, develop potential events which are media driver, revenue generating; increase our standing in the community.
? Assist with sales in hotel site inspection as required with meeting and conference organizers, who have high potential media value.
? To entertain clients, in-house guests and key company contacts responsible for PR so that we can network with them to increase our visibility and change for media exposure.
? Conduct a minimum 4 qualified sales call per week. To maintain the acquired contact?s for events/ PR.
? To obtain market intelligence regarding a specifically assigned competitor hotel and their selling/ marketing strategies, new facilities etc.
? Maintain accurate call reports and documentation of conversations/ commitments in the appropriate file.
? To keep track of competitor?s activities on an ongoing basis and report on them in the appropriate meetings.
Maintain an effective tracing system for files and paper work.
