2. Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/ hospitality profession
3. Minimum five years of sales and marketing in the luxury hotel industry
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and property management systems.
5. Command of the English language both written and verbal
6. Strong media, presentation and computer skills
7. 4-year bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and
Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years' experience in the sales and
marketing or related professional area.
1. Directly, supervise all associates in the hotel Sales and Marketing department.
2. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the brand and management
company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, assisting and directing activities.
3. Assist sales managers with the development and implementation plans for assigned market segments.Develop personal plans for assigned markets/accounts. Monitor results and
progress during weekly meetings.
4. Conduct and/or participate in the required company standard meetings, including but not
limited to daily Sales stand up meeting, daily operations meeting, daily business review
meeting, weekly sales meetings, weekly revenue strategy meeting, weekly with each sales
staff, and weekly staff/Executive Committee meeting.
5. Conduct outside sales calls to cultivate existing customers and accounts and develop new
business.
6. Define specific deployment and market/account responsibilities for self and all Sales staffs.
7. Ensure systems are established and in place to respond to customer needs within a defined response period. These may include, but are not limited to: telephone inquiries, bids,
proposals, confirmation of bookings, thank you letters, follow up letters, etc.
8. Develop and maintain a file and trace system to ensure all sales call activity is defined,
recorded, traced, and updated in an organized manner.
9. Review daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly results of all activities completed by the
Sales staff.
10. Ensure all traces are completed and retraced where appropriate
Ensure the understanding and implementation of Brand sales initiatives, tools and
resources.
11. Aggressively pursue all appropriate opportunities within designated DOSM market
segments for outside customer solicitation and relationship building including: Outside
Sales Calls, Civic Association Events, Trade Events, Industry Vendor Relationships, etc.
12. Conduct hotel tours and evaluate qualified potential clients in accordance with the
company and property policies.
13. Contribute to the research and development of the annual strategic marketing plan,
budget, and monthly forecasts.
14. Local community involvement as it benefits the hotel, via approved memberships in
organizations.
15. Submit required weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the General Manager.
16. Analyze data for trends, corrective action, rate maximization, etc.
17. Actively participate in Month End Revenue Review Calls and Property Visits
18. Be able to understand and interpret market conditions, trends, and the competition by
analyzing Unity data and sales month-end reports.
19. Contribute and work as a "team" member in all facets of the position.
Perform other services and duties as requested by the General Manager. May be called
upon to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales team, travel and work extended
hours to achieve departmental goals.
20. Present a clean, pleasant and professional image to project a positive, polished
appearance to staff, potential guests and clients.
