Regional Design Review Manager

? Minimum 3-5 years related experience in architecture and or interior design for commercial, industrial or institutional facilities. Hotel industry experience preferred.
? Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Able to diplomatically and articulately communicate design deficiencies and required changes while maintaining member relationships.
? Experienced in reading construction documents and specifications.
? Self-motivated; able to set priorities and deliver results with limited day to day supervision.
? Previous design/architecture project management experience preferred.
? Strong skills in computer systems, software including Microsoft Office Suite and remote user functionality.
? Ability to not let substantial travel hinder the ability to complete work in the required timeframe
? Fluent in verbal and written English is required.
? Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality of all information

1. Collaborate with hotel owners within a specific geographic area to promote compliance with Best Western Design guidelines and standards.
2. Provides design consultation, guidance and direction to member hotels during Design visits and visits to hotels joining the Brand.
3. Ensures maximization of the Member?s potential in the territory, as well as brand compliance with the design requirements.
4. Utilizes comprehensive resources, to photograph and document properties design compliance status in PIP document and follow up during the activation process.
5. Makes recommendations to property owners on design related matters, maintaining quality service by following Company standards
6. Creates Property Improvement Plans (PIP) for Conversion applicants applying to become a Best Western hotel.
7. Resolves defined problems and identifies obscured issues; Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude to analyze and resolve problems
8. Comment and review on all architectural drawings at each phase of the development of the hotel together with Regional Technical Services Manager
9. Set-up design workshops and site meetings as required, and coordinate with other disciplines, including Best Western Area Specialists and with the Architecture, Design & Construction Team
10. Participate on site reviews and review of sample guestrooms.
11. Handle interior design projects, being responsible for the completion of projects and maintaining client satisfaction
12. Attend property site meeting and give comment into the meeting as assigned by the company
13. Review and provide design direction to the project design team to establish conformity to Best Western Brands planning design and construction requirements
