The ICT Support Engineer (Specialist in Network) should have the following qualities:
? Possess Bachelor degree.
? Good technical working knowledge in Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, networking and security fundamentals.
? Excellent technical working knowledge in network switch configuration preferably HP and Aruba products. Able to configure switches with VLANs.
? Good technical working knowledge in network security products and solutions preferably Fortinet products and Bitdefender Endpoint solutions
? Strong leadership skills.
? Basic Programming knowledge in: Microsoft Access, MySQL, SQL server.
? Basic Web Programming knowledge in: ASP, PHP, CMS such as WordPress.
? Possess good English language skills in speaking and reading.
The ICT Support Engineer (Specialist in Network) at Shrewsbury International School is responsible to the ICT Manager who acts as Line Manager. He/she will work closely with the rest of the ICT Support team to provide an excellent service and vital technical support to meet the needs of the Shrewsbury community. The ICT Support Engineer (Specialist in Network) have duties as follows;
? Supervise all hardware repair and maintenance.
? Supervise all hardware and software upgrades.
? To provide solutions to end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides end user training where required.
? Supervise IGCSE ICT exams and all other External Exams that needs ICT Support including Primary and Secondary assessments.
? Supervise network switch monitoring and configuration. Ensures that all switch firmware are up to date. Ensures the stable operation of the computer network and all connected PC?s, laptops and peripherals.
? Administer and maintain Fortinet Firewall.
? Maintain network infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
? Manage bitdefender antivirus system.
? Administer and maintain Fortinet Firewall.
? Assist Line Manager in assigning tasks to ICT Support Technicians.
? General technician duties as and when required to help maintain the school network and support the smooth operation of the schools? IT infrastructure.
? Other assigned tasks from Line Manager.
