1. Kitchen Operations & Food Quality
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning, developing, and executing menus in line with hotel/restaurant standards.
- Ensure that food is prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest quality and consistency.
- Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.
2. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, guide, and train kitchen staff to maintain performance and discipline.
- Foster teamwork, motivation, and a positive working environment.
- Assist with staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
3. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that all kitchen areas comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP or equivalent).
- Enforce safety procedures and proper handling of kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas.
4. Cost Control & Inventory Management
- Assist in monitoring food costs, labor costs, and overall kitchen expenses.
- Check stock levels, supervise ordering, and ensure proper storage of supplies.
- Support in maintaining supplier relationships and controlling wastage.
5. Administrative & Managerial Duties
- Report directly to the Executive Chef and act as second-in-command in their absence.
- Assist in kitchen performance reviews and staff appraisals.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., F&B Service, Purchasing) to ensure smooth operations.
