REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree preferred with minimum of 7 years? experience in sales.
- 5-star hotel experience with demonstrated skills in supervising a team.
- Lodging sales experience.
- Experience managing to brand standards.
- Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
POSITION PURPOSE
Leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves personal booking goals and makes recommendations on booking goals of direct reports. Provides support for sales activities for larger, more complex accounts. Monitors and manages against team booking goals and makes recommendations on booking goals of direct reports. Creates opportunities to grow the account base through customer interactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops strategic working relationships with leaders of these sales channels in order to proactively position and drive sales to the property. Develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer profile and property associates and provides a return on investment.
- Works with DOSM to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment including management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment led by the DOSM.
- Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business. Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
- Gains understanding of the property's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.
