1.2 Proven experience in managing teams of 15+ people.
1.3 Strong background in operations, finance, and guest services.

2. Skills:
2.1 Excellent leadership and communication skills.
2.2 Strong problem-solving and crisis management ability.
2.3 Proficient in English (spoken and written); Thai language is a plus.
2.4 Comfortable using PMS, POS systems, and office software.

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Mad Monkey Hostel in Chiang Mai. This includes guest satisfaction, staff performance, financial outcomes, and maintaining a strong brand culture. The GM must lead by example, ensure operational excellence, and create a fun, safe, and memorable experience for both guests and team members.
1.Operational Management:
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the hostel including front desk, housekeeping, F&B, and events.
1.2 Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
1.3 Implement SOPs and ensure compliance across departments.
2.People Management:
2.1 Lead, train, and inspire a diverse team of local and international staff.
2.2 Conduct regular performance evaluations and staff development.
2.3 Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic work environment aligned with Mad Monkey culture.
3. Guest Experience:
3.1 Drive exceptional guest service and handle complaints promptly and professionally.
4.1 Ensure events and social activities are engaging and aligned with the brand spirit.
4.2 Monitor guest reviews and implement improvements based on feedback.
5. Financial Management:
5.1 Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L to meet financial targets.
5.2 Control operational costs and drive revenue through accommodation, F&B, and activities.
5.3 Ensure proper cash handling, reporting, and financial compliance.
6. Sales & Marketing:
6.1 Work with the marketing team to drive occupancy and brand awareness.
6.2 Oversee local partnerships and promotions.
6.3 Monitor OTAs and manage inventory and pricing.
7. Maintenance & Compliance:
7.1 Ensure the property is well-maintained and all equipment is in working condition.
7.2 Comply with local health, safety, and labor regulations.
7.3 Lead fire, emergency, and safety training and drills.
