? Proven experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or senior pastry chef in a professional kitchen.
? Culinary qualification specializing in pastry and baking is preferred.
? Strong knowledge of pastry, bakery techniques, and dessert presentation.
? Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
? Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
? Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for desserts and baked goods.
? Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
? Physical stamina to work long hours, often standing and performing repetitive tasks.
? Supervise and coordinate the production of all bakery and pastry items according to recipes and quality standards.
? Assist the Head Chef/Pastry Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal dessert creations.
? Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all baked and pastry products.
? Train, mentor, and support junior pastry staff, including Commis Pastry and Baker.
? Manage inventory of ingredients, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering and storage.
? Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety in the pastry section.
? Monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery during service periods.
? Support Head Chef in managing workflow, troubleshooting issues, and improving operational efficiency.
? Stay updated on pastry trends, techniques, and new products.
