Performance and Events Technician

Professional Expectations:
The Performance and Events Technician should have the following qualities
- Good level of proficiency in the English Language
- Possess a degree or equivalent qualification
- Possess relevant technical expertise and/or experience in AV technology, operation and event staging
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and feel comfortable to liaise with staff, students and external visitors
- Be proactive, adaptable and have a ?can-do? attitude
- Possess excellent organisational and communication skills and have a professional manner
- Be willing to work flexible hours, after-school hours and work at weekends (at times with time off in lieu)
- Be proactive in approach to training especially in technical and health and safety related areas.

Key Responsibilities:
The Performance and Events Technician reports directly to the Senior Performance Technician and works closely with the operations team to ensure that the set up for all school events running in various venues inside and outside school, including Memorial Hall and Recital Hall, will be conducted to a high standard. In particular, the Performance and Events Technician will:
- Liaise with teaching and other staff to determine the performance/event requirements, providing advice with the appropriate understanding of the nature, tone and formality of the functions.
- Prepare and operate all audio & visual equipment and components for shows, concerts and school events including help arrange props and models for productions, plotting the light and special effects design.
- Manage the storage and keep stock of all audio-visual components (sound, lighting, projection, digital equipment, etc).
- Ensure all resources and equipment repairs are carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Arrange regular maintenance of all, audio and visual equipments to ensure all are in good condition.
- Conduct equipment purchasing as necessary within budget.
- Liaise with the Director of Business and Services to ensure that all technical up in the school complies with the school?s health and safety policy and current best practice.
- Perform related ad-hoc duties as necessary as directed by the Line Manager
- Delegate and directly work the wider Performance Technicians effectively.
- Other assigned tasks relevant to the roles and responsibility of this position.
