Requirements:
The minimum requirements are:
Experience in Hospitality, with supervisory or management experience preferred
Good command of Microsoft programs including Word, PowerPoint & excel. Previous experience working on financial and front office / F&B systems.
Able to prioritize and possess excellent time management, decision-making, strong leadership and most importantly teamwork
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), administrative and organization skills.
Proven ability as a flexible and adaptable person
Good command in Thai and English both written and spoken
Ability to multi task, work, be organized, and perform under pressure
Experience with financial accounting
Friendly, fun, and helpful attitude towards customers and employees
Ability to maintain proper attitude and ethic towards all guests and employees
Being able to handle angry customers, complaints, and resolving them in a professional and friendly manner
Cultural understanding and flexibility in dealing with people from other cultures
Strong management skills, ability to appropriately assign or delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals. Provide coaching, advice and assistance to ensure peak performance from all team members.
Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights as required.

Progression path:
Depending on your personal progress,aspirations, commitment, attitude, and more, there are various paths of progression available. Mad Monkey Hostels is expanding internationally, with multiple new hostel launches predicted in 2018. After the successful launch of our flagship property in Bangkok, we are now looking for a motivated Assistant General Manager to offer support to the GM and help oversee & manage all aspects of operations for our new locations in Chiang Mai and Pai.


We are looking for a friendly, positive minded candidate that wants to become a part of the Mad Monkey family, somebody that wants to be a part of an exciting journey of growth and expansion, and somebody we can share future success with.

Reports to: General Manager

The Role:

40% - Management support: Assisting the GM with daily activities as well as long term projects to ensure that hostel targets are being reached and customer satisfaction is consistently high. The GM will delegate the tasks accordingly.

10% - Accounting & reconciliation: Oversee and double check account reconciliations, making sure that there are no anomalies, and that all cash matches sales.

25% - Management & supervision: Assist the GM in management and supervision of all departments, ensuring all standards are being met and kept. Supervise employee / customer relations and interactions, monitor attitudes, abilities, and progress, while providing recommendations on any corrective actions to the GM.

25% - Departmental communication: Be proactive in communicating between employees and management, being approachable for staff to confide in to help av
oid and solve any unnecessary internal issues or conflicts. Bring any issues related to employees, such as operations, working conditions and happiness, to the attention of the management. The same goes for customers and any complaints or recommendations they might have.

Internal working relationship: You will be working directly with the General Manager, as well as interacting with all employees in each department.

Responsibilities:
Assist the GM in day to day operations
Assign duties to Head Of Departments and observe performance to ensure standards are being kept
Assist GM in delivering training
Selects or assist in the selection of hostel staff and completes all new hire paperwork and ensures the updating of the company HRMI system.
Maintains accurate records including cash flows sheet, guest floor limit, AR ageing reports, direct billing etc.
Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.
Ensure full compliance to Hostel operating controls, SOP- s, policies, procedures and service standards.
Assist GM in key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly property inspections.
Builds strong working relationships and communications with hostel staff, HOD's and other departments to ensure maximum operating effectiveness and fulfilment of special event needs.
Audits on par stock on all areas to make sure that all required hostel supplies are ordered and stocked in advance.
Provide effective leadership to hostel team members.
Ensures effective, timely and accurate communications flow with regards to hostel policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Management.
Oversees reception and all tasks and responsibilities associated with that role
