The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in the service apartments. He/she assigns duties, inspects work, and investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action. May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
1. Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
2. Supervises, trains and retrains Room Attendants.
3. Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
4. Schedule and carry out periodical cleaning programs.
5. Inspects apartments assigned to them for maintenance and cleanliness.
6. Follow up on outstanding maintenance.
7. To pay special attention to VIP apartments and residents.
8. Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
9. Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints.
10. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
11. Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
12. Screens job applicants, hires new employees, and recommends promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
13. Daily checks to ensure no linen or equipment abuse.
14. Immediate reporting of any damage to furniture, fitting and equipment.
15. Pays special attention to sick residents.
16. Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
