1. Job Purpose To oversee and manage all engineering operations, building maintenance, facilities, and equipment to ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards while maintaining guest satisfaction and controlling operational costs. 2. Key Duties & Responsibilities A. Engineering Operations & Maintenance - Oversee daily engineering operations and maintenance activities. - Ensure all building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, and mechanical systems, operate efficiently. - Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs. - Monitor and follow up on maintenance requests from all departments. - Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas. B. Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire protection systems, and environmental requirements. - Conduct regular inspections of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and other safety equipment. - Coordinate safety inspections and government-required maintenance checks. - Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment breakdowns. C. Energy & Cost Management - Monitor electricity, water, and energy consumption. - Develop energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs. - Prepare and control the Engineering Department's annual budget. - Manage purchasing, spare parts inventory, and maintenance expenses. - Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers. D. Leadership & People Management - Lead, supervise, and develop Engineering team members. - Prepare work schedules and assign responsibilities. - Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching. - Identify training needs and improve team performance. - Promote teamwork and effective communication. E. Guest & Internal Customer Satisfaction - Coordinate with all departments to ensure timely maintenance services. - Respond to guest complaints related to engineering issues. - Ensure all facilities are maintained to provide a comfortable guest experience. - Support hotel operations and management requirements. 3. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management. - Previous experience in a supervisory or management position. - Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems. - Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Good command of English. - Computer literacy and report preparation skills. 4.
