- Responsible for the supervision of daily work assignments of Laundry Attendants - Ensures that all laundry staff performs duties in accordance with hotel policy. - Works in co-ordination with Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Housekeeper in providing orientation to the Laundry Attendants. - Train all new staff and provide regular training to the Laundry Attendants to improve job performance and meet hotel service standards. - Maintains regular and effective communication with other hotel departments to ensure the smooth operation of hotel areas. - Supervises a high standard of cleaning and pressing of Guest and Executive staff laundry. - Supervises a high standard of cleaning all the linen in the hotel. (Keep in mind: the laundry is a business card of the hotel) - Assists with performance appraisals of all the Laundry Attendants and prepares guidelines and time frames for improvement. - Participates in all staff and training meetings when directed by Executive Housekeeper /Assistant Housekeeper. - Co ? Ordinates the delivery of clean linen to Maid Stations and collection of dirty linen. - Ensures the issue and return of staff uniforms for cleaning is to the correct Housekeeping procedures. - Ensures staff personal laundry procedures are also followed correctly. - Introduces all new Laundry Attendants to facilities and services and explains all policies, tasks, procedures and standards to ensure the highest standard of service. - Administers staff schedules to ensure sufficient staff to cover workload, in order to minimise overtime payment. - Prepares a checklist of cleaning tasks for Laundry Attendants to use while cleaning and maintaining all hotel areas. - Demonstrate to all the Laundry Attendants how to perform each task in job description according to hotel service standard. - Supervises the work of Laundry Attendants and assists when necessary. - Inspects all the linen in public and guest areas to ensure that hotel standards are met for cleanliness, function and aesthetic value. - Provides the Laundry Attendants with current information about hotel facilities, services and special events so that they can make recommendations to guests. - Maintains stock level requirements of materials, equipment and general supplies and ensures requisitions are made as required. - Ensures all equipment and machines are cleaned and maintained in good condition and stored correctly. - Submits to Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper regular reports on required equipment repair. - Respond to guest requests and immediately handles problems and complaints regarding all the areas. - Provides assistance to guests in all hotel emergency evacuation and medical procedures. - Ensures high standards of personal appearance and hygiene with clean and pressed uniforms as per the hotel policy for all the Laundry Attendants. - Reports any health and safety hazards to Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper. - Performs any other duties when assigned by Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper. - Cares for details in his area and constantly improves quality in his field. |
